We built Nova because we believe in privacy-first software. This Privacy Policy explains exactly what we collect, what we don't, and how to opt out of everything optional.
• Nova processes everything locally on your Mac.
• We never upload your files, browser history, passwords or documents.
• We collect anonymous, aggregated usage telemetry — and you can turn it off.
• We do not sell, rent or share your personal data with third parties.
• We are GDPR and CCPA compliant.
"Nova", "we", "us" and "our" refer to Nova GmbH, the operator of the website and the Nova desktop application for macOS. For data protection inquiries, write to [email protected].
Anonymous usage telemetry (opt-out): The desktop app reports anonymous, aggregated counters such as "Task started", "Research completed" and crash stack traces. No file paths, file names or document contents are ever transmitted. You can disable telemetry in Settings → Privacy.
Website analytics: Our website uses privacy-respecting analytics to count page views and sources of traffic. We do not use cross-site tracking cookies.
We process the limited data above to: provide customer support; detect crashes and stability regressions; and comply with our legal and tax obligations.
We rely on (a) legitimate interests for crash reports and basic product analytics, and (b) your explicit consent for any non-essential cookies on the website.
We share data only with the processors required to operate the service. Each processor is bound by a data-processing agreement. We do not sell or monetise your data.
Cloudflare: Our website uses Cloudflare for security, performance optimization, and DDoS protection. Cloudflare may process certain data as part of their service, but they do not use it for any independent purpose. Learn more →
Crash reports and anonymous telemetry are retained for 90 days then aggregated.
Wherever you live, you can email [email protected] to (i) access a copy of the data we hold about you, (ii) correct inaccurate data, (iii) delete your data, (iv) object to processing, (v) export your data in a portable format, or (vi) lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
