Install Nova from Terminal

Nova can be installed directly from Terminal in a few simple steps. Follow the guide below and let the installer handle the setup automatically.

Open Terminal

Use Spotlight to open the Terminal application.

1 Press ⌘ Space Spotlight search
2 ›_ Type Terminal In the search field
3 Press Return Terminal opens

Run the installation

Copy the installation command below, paste it into Terminal, and press Return. The installer will handle the remaining setup automatically.

Paste the command into Terminal exactly as shown, then press Return.

Let the installer finish

Terminal will display the installation progress. Leave the window open until the process finishes and the prompt returns.

Nova has been installed successfully and is ready to run.

TROUBLESHOOTING

If something goes wrong

Terminal says the command cannot be found

Make sure the command was pasted completely and that Terminal is running normally.

macOS asks for permission

Review the permission message shown by macOS and continue only if you recognize the installation source.

The installation appears to stop

Wait until the Terminal prompt returns. If the process has genuinely stopped, restart Terminal and try again.

Nova does not open

Restart your Mac and check System Settings → Privacy & Security for a message related to Nova.
